Messages to Parents:

    September 4th is the 1st day of School:

    NWEA Testing will begin September 11th.

    Open House is September 12th.

    Picture day will be September 21st.

For 5th Graders who are going to be part of the Instrumental Music Program, representatives from Northern Kingdom Music will be in the Music Room at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11th to talk with parents and distribute rental instruments.
Information sheets have been sent home with all 5th Graders today, Wednesday.

It is not necessary to rent an instrument from Northern Kingdom to be part of the program. You can provide your own instrument, but you should be sure that it is in playable condition.
Music Books, music stands and other accessories (valve oil, reeds, sax straps, etc. May be purchased Tuesday night also.
Northern Kingdom requires your driver's license, social security number and a major credit card if you are renting an instrument. Other purchases may be made with cash or a check.

The 5th grade band will practice in two sections each week. On Thursday the woodwinds will practice (flute, clarinet, saxophone) and on Friday the brass and percussion will practice Practices are from 11:45 to 12:20 on one of those days, depending on the instrument chosen.

If you and your student decide to participate in the program, please understand that it is crucial to your student's success to make time to practice! Please consider your student's schedule when helping them make up his/her mind about being part of the Instrumental Program.
